About Me 

Born and raised in Shanghai, China, my childhood dream was to become a journalist. However, upon moving to the United States, I pursued a major in Science and went on with a successful engineering career for the last fifteen years. I was able to pick up cameras on my own as a hobby, until one day people started asking if they could pay me to take photos, I then realized I could potentially pursue photography full time instead of just as a creative outlet.

The philosophy behind my photography is that a camera is a tool for storytelling. I aim to capture the people I photograph in a genuine light that shows their relationships, personalities, culture, passions, etc. - whatever makes you, you. I want to bring life into the pictures that I take, and prioritize the human connections beyond the lens.

For me, it is really important to get to know my clients before clicking the button on the camera. The more connection you can establish with others, the more relaxed everyone will be. After all, we are all ordinary people who are not used to being in front of a camera all of the time, including me!
